Texas State Parks Road Trip: Day 2

Guadalupe River State Park

Miles Hiked Today: 6.72
Miles Hiked Total: 12.49

Beautiful day at Guadalupe River State Park despite the threat of rain in the afternoon. The cloudy day actually made for some nice breezy hiking. Thanks, HIKE for Mental Health for picking a month that’s actually bearable to hike in Texas! There are plenty of trails here to explore, from oak Savannah to the bald cypress lined river, and I wish I had more time but I’m shooting for quantity over quality on this trip. I did, however, make time to relax on the limestone bluffs and soak my sore feet in the cold river. More wildlife today than yesterday. I saw deer, armadillos, squirrels, and tons of birds that I still can’t name. I’d love to come back here with more time to kayak or maybe float down the river.
